NP Kornati


In the central part of the Croatian Adriatic, in the Šibenik and Zadar island area, a special and in many ways particular group of islands called the Kornati have emerged.
Due to their exceptionally beautiful landscape and interesting geomorphology, great indentedness of the coastline and especially rich biocenesis of the sea ecosystem most of the Kornati waters were declared a national park in 1980.
Today National park Kornati extends over a surface area of 220 km2 and includes 89 islands, islets and reefs with almost 238 km of coastline.

NP Krka Falls

River Krka is a phenomenon, while making its way to the Adriatic sea; it forms many lakes, falls and water currents. Originating from the base of the Dinara Mountains, by the town of Knin; because of the natural beauty and geological characteristics around the Krka River was declared a National park in 1985. The park encompass' and area of 109 km2 and follows along the river Krka about 2 km down river from Knin to Skradin.
The most impressive, and visited waterfalls are Skradinski buk and Roški falls. Roški falls are very accessible and can be visited year round. 650m of river create 12 water falls, with a total height of 27m. On the left side of the river Krka there are mills (used for processing wheat and corn) some of which are still in use today.

NP Paklenica


The area of Paklenica National Park has an exceptional diversity of geomorphological forms.
The most attractive and most valuable parts of South Velebit are surely the impressive canyons of Velika Paklenica and Mala Paklenica.
The wealth of flora is reflected in the list of 1,000 plant species and subspecies recorded to date, 79 of them endemic. The great diversity, the presence of relict, endemic, rare, statutorily protected species many of which are included in the Red Book of Plant Species of the Republic of Croatia and the IUNC’s Red List of Endangered Plant Species, make the Park a very valuable floristic area, not just in Croatia, but in Europe and the world as well.
The diverse habitats in Paklenica and the vertical stratification provide home to a diverse fauna
